Abbie M. Greenleaf, age 89, of Sudbury died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Sudbury Pines Extended Care Facility of Sudbury, MA. Abbie was born February 26, 1926 in Winchendon, MA. She is the daughter of the late Earl M. and the late Lizzie I. (Thompson) Stratton. She married Milan E. Greenleaf on January 6, 1956. She was predeceased by her husband, Milan E. Greenleaf in 1973.
Abbie lived most of her life in Gardner. She worked as a Dietician at Heywood Hospital for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gardner and she enjoyed baking, crafts and most of all spending time with her family. She attended the GVNA Adult Day Health Center, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and playing bingo.
She is survived by two daughters: Irene L. Adkins of Gilsum, NH, Lynne A. Greenleaf of Worcester; one sister: Thelma Parker of Hinsdale, NH and one brother: John Stratton and his wife Sue of CA; three grandchildren, Jaime L. Marshall, James D. Capone and Jonathon M. Capone; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her Brothers, Horace I. Stratton and Earl Stratton, and sisters, Edith Butterworth, Ruth Stratton and Christine Stratton.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Higgin's O'Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol, MA with¬¬¬ Rev. David Poole officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Athol.
