ATHOL - Adele T. (Serapinas) Coflesky, 91 of Athol, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in the Baldwinville Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born in Hamtramck, Michigan, on October 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Leonard B. and the late Frances (Alekevich) Serapinas.
Her family relocated to the Athol area when she was young. Adele graduated from Athol High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Teaching from Worcester State College.
Adele was a committed educator in the Athol School system and she taught at Sanders Street School and Pleasant Street School for 22 years, retiring in 1992.
Adele was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and a member of the Athol Golden Ages.
She enjoyed bowling, gardening, dancing with her husband John, and trips to the casinos. She especially loved children.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Baldwinville Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center for all of the outstanding care given to Adele and the family.
She leaves one daughter, Janice T. Saal of Watertown; one son, John P. Coflesky and his wife Mary of Royalston; two grandsons, Michael J. Coflesky of Westminster, David W. Coflesky of Old Orchard Beach, Maine and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband John J. Coflesky in 1998; by one sister, Mary Amsden and by two brothers, Leonard Serapinas and Frank Serapinas.
A calling hour will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home 110 New Athol Road, Orange.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 11:00 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 101 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Baldwinville Skilled Nursing Home and Rehab Center- Employee Fund, 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville, MA 01436.
