GARDNER - Albert “Al” Doucette, 92 of Gardner died peacefully Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in the Alliance Health of Baldwinville.He was born in Gardner on January 2, 1928, the son of the late Albert and the late Rosanna (Gionet) Doucette.Mr. Doucette was a veteran serving in the Navy on the USS Saipan CVL 48 and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.  He attended schools in Gardner and received his diploma at a ceremony held for World War II veterans in 1999.  He was employed at Heywood Wakefield for 29 years and then went on to work at Mount Wachusett Community College for 15 years until his retirement in 1990.Al was a member of Holy Rosary Church, the Gardner V.F.W., the Napoleon Club, a former member of the horseshoe club and the Gardner Skin Divers.  He enjoyed woodworking.Al was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Rena C. (Sbrocca) Doucette who passed in 2012, he was also predeceased by two sisters, Martha Auger and Stella Kacian.He leaves two daughters, Cynthia M. Lull and her husband Thomas of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Rebecca D. Perry and her husband Ric of Gardner; one son, Andrew A. Doucette of Gardner; two granddaughters, Rene` Perry of Gardner; Nikki Fletcher and her husband Travis of Templeton; a brother, Frederick Doucette and his wife Eleanor of Lunenburg; and many nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the Annunciation Parish - Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner.  Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery.There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Alliance Health at Baldwinville - Activities Fund, 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville, MA 01436  or to Beacon Hospice, 36 Williams St., Leomnster, MA 01453.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff on Unit 2 at Alliance Health at Baldwinville for all their great care and compassion.To send an online condolence please visit www.mackfamilyfh.com.
