On March 28th, 2025, we lost an incredible soul, a father, husband, Bumpa, and friend to so many. Alex Paul Blake Sr., at the age of 62. Born on November 18, 1962, in Gardner, MA, Alex filled the world with laughter and compassion, touching the lives of everyone he met.
He leaves behind a beloved "motley crew," as he affectionately called his family. His four children—sons Alex Blake Jr. and Nicholas Blake, along with his daughters Kimberly Blake and her partner Freddy Gallego, Brittany (Chris) Goulette—were his pride and joy. He cherished his grandchildren, Aryel, Andrew, Freddy, and Jameson, as well as his sister Bonnie Lemaire and brother-in-law Frank. He also leaves behind his nephews, Frank and Jason, nieces Jenny and Jessica, countless cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends, including his best friend Catherine Blake
Alex was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Mason, stepfather, Isreal Mason, and father, Robert Blake, along with his beloved cat Kitka of over 20 years and many other cherished family members.
A proud veteran, Alex served in the United States Army for more than 20 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 102, where he took on the role of commander and participated in the color guard and veterans committee. He was a constant presence at Veterans Day programs and school events, always ready to speak and share his experiences. He was also involved with the Knights of Columbus. Alex loved his community and dedicated himself to countless acts of service, leaving an indelible mark that could fill pages if we tried to list them all.
He had a passion for his Batman and military collections, adored children, and fiercely loved his country. His dad jokes, though sometimes cringe-worthy, always brought smiles and laughter to those around him. To know Alex was to love him, and his absence is felt deeply by an overwhelming number of people who cared for him.
