Alfred D. Cloutier Coast Guard Veteran and local business owner. LEOMINSTER -- Alfred D. Cloutier, 88, of Leominster, died Monday, March 26, 2012, at home, after an illness. He was a lifelong resident of Leominster born on May 23, 1923, the son of the late Leo Cloutier and Lena (Dargis) Cloutier. He leaves his loving wife of 64 years, Marcella F. (Longeri) Cloutier, with whom he would have celebrated their 65th anniversary in July; three daughters, Judith Duval and her husband, Douglas of Lunenburg, Jennifer Haley and her husband, Michael of Leominster, and Jane Mahan of Townsend; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Vaillette and his wife, Patricia of Leominster, Amanda Vaillette and her fiancé, Shea Moser of Jacksonville, Florida, Nicholas Vaillette and his wife, Christina of Jacksonville, Florida; and his new great-granddaughter, Vivienne Vaillette. For many years, he owned and operated Bourbeau's Market in Leominster along with his two brothers-in-law, Donald Bouvier and Alfred Remal. After his retirement, he worked part time at Adams' Liquors in Fitchburg. He was a US Coast Guard Veteran of World War ll, serving as a Pharmacists Mate 3RD Class. He enlisted in 1942 was honorably discharged in 1945, having served on the USS General W.M. Black (AP135). He was a communicant of Holy Family of Nazareth Church in Leominster and was a member of the Leominster Lodge of ELKS. He enjoyed skiing in his younger years, taking cruises with his wife and friends, working in his yard, cookouts around his swimming pool, holiday celebrations with all his in-laws and their families and the many get-togethers with his close friends. His greatest joy was always the time spent with his loving wife, his daughters and their husbands, his grandchildren, and his new great-granddaughter. The family would like to thank Dr Daniel O'Leary and his staff, the Health Alliance Home Hospice and the caring and wonderful caregivers, Annie, Lois, Sandra, Linda, Stephanie and Paula. Alfred's funeral will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster, with an 11:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family of the Nazareth Church, 750 Union St., Leominster. Burial with military honors will follow in St Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours in the funeral home are Saturday morning, March 31, 2012 from 9:30 AM - 11 AM.
