ATHOL - Alfred J. Savoy, age 83, of Athol died Sunday, July 20, 2014.  Mr. Savoy was born July 30, 1930 in Athol, the son of the late Azade and the late Mabel (Robichaud) Savoy.     He was a lifelong resident of Athol and was educated in Athol.  He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952.  He worked for 22 years at the former Union Twist Drill Company assembling and sharpening carbide drills.  He also worked for the Massachusetts State Highway Department as a line painter for 5 years, retiring in the early 1990s. He was a member of the Athol Orange Lodge of Elks #1837 and was Past Exalted Ruler from 1986 to 1987.  He was a former member of the Franco American Club.  He was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church.  He enjoyed hunting, and fishing in the Quabbin Reservoir He is survived by, a daughter  Annette Suzor and her husband William of Athol; three sons, Allan Savoy of Athol, Ernest "Ernie" Savoy and his wife Tammy of NH, Michael Savoy and his wife Cathy of Athol; one niece, Norma Boudreau of Connecticut;   five grandchildren:  Jason Savoy, Timothy Savoy, Nicole Savoy, Adam Suzor and Andre Savoy all of Athol; three step-grandchildren, Dean Courtemanche and Kristen Courtemanche of NH, Alexander Suzor of Athol; three step-great grandchild, Heather Suzor and Mikayla Suzor of Athol, Logan Courtemanche of Milford, NH. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Jeanne (D'Arce) Savoy who died in 2013, by his son Timothy Savoy who died in 1959, his sister Helen Boudreau, his nephew Philip Boudreau, and his great grandson Samuel Greene Savoy. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol.  Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol. Calling hours will be Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main St., Athol, MA.  An Elks ritual will be held at 10:45 a.m. To send an online condolence please visit www.fiskemurphymack.com.
