Alfreda Mildred (Haapaniemi) Nash

GARDNER – A. Mildred (Haapaniemi) Nash, 100, of Gardner died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in the Health Alliance Hospital – Leominster Campus. She was born in Fitchburg on December 12, 1911 the daughter of the late Samuel and Wilhemina (Seppelin) Haapaniemi. Mrs. Nash worked as a Nurses Aide for the Gardner Manor Nursing Home for many years and she also worked cleaning at St. Paul’s Church in Gardner. She sang in the choir at Shaffaler College in Ohio and enjoyed baking and sharing her baked goods with family and neighbors. She leaves one daughter:  Barbara Decoff and her husband David of East Templeton; one son: David Nash and his wife Peggy of Lehi, Utah; nine grandchildren:  Debbie Lehoux, Dr. David L. Nash and his wife Gisele, Judy Lynn Nash and her husband Daryl, Brenda Lee Bradford, Keith Nash and his wife Jacqui, Kevin Nash and his wife Darci, Michael Nash and his wife Sally, Matthew Nash and his wife Kerilyn, Carelton Nash; 34 great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Nash in 1971, by her son Paul Nash in 1989, by a great granddaughter, Jaime Lehoux in 1981, by her sister, Ingrid Haapaniemi and by her brother, Dr. Victor E. Harper. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton.  There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice. $(document).ready(function(){ });
