Alice K. Amadon

ATHOL - Alice K. (McCarthy) Amadon, 76 of 373 Wallingford Avenue, Athol, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol. She was born in Lake Placid, NY, on November 12, 1932, the daughter of the late Leo A. and the late Catherine H. (Hathaway) McCarthy. She worked at the Athol Junior High School as the Cafeteria Manager, retiring in 1994. She was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church, a member of the church choir and active with the fall church fair. She was also a member of AARP both locally and nationally. She leaves her husband of 57 years: Philip H. Amadon, two daughters: Chris A. Blake and husband Steven of Arvada, CO, Dawn M. Sandoval and husband Stephen of Gardner, and three sons: Garold P. Amadon of Warren, Michgan, James M. Amadon of Athol, Michael P. Amadon and wife Colleen of Athol; one brother: Gerald J. McCarthy of Delray Beach, FL; nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers Leo A. McCarthy and F. Joseph McCarthy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 6, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. in the Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, February 6, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main St., Athol.
