Alice J. Chicoine

January 29, 1934 — July 2, 2022

Alice Josephine (Burgoyne) Chicoine passed away on Saturday July 2, 2022 at the U Mass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after a brief illness. She was 88 years old. Alice was born on January 29, 1934 and was raised in Jaffrey, NH, graduated from Conant High School, and attended the Nursing Program at Heywood Hospital. She was an active parishioner of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Templeton and a member of the Rosary Sodality. Alice married Norman Chicoine in 1951 and shortly thereafter moved to Templeton where she would remain with her family for the next 69 years. At the time of her passing she was a resident at the Oakdale Nursing Facility in West Boylston where she had many wonderful friends and enjoyed an active social life. She was an avid gardener and loved to knit and sew. Always generous, no friend or family ever wanted for a beautiful bouquet, a fresh garden vegetable or warm hats and mittens. Alice managed the business end of Chick's Auto Body in Gardner for its many years of operation. Alice and Norman collected vintage T-Birds and enjoyed many extended adventures with their convertible club friends. Alice is survived by three of her six children, Sheila Chicoine of Gardner, Kathleen Cronin of Gardner, married to Dan Cronin, and John Chicoine of Royalston, engaged to Holly Cyganiewicz. Her husband of 65 years, Norman, predeceased her in 2017. She lost her baby daughter Rosemary in 1969, and her sons Michael in 2019 and Philip in 2020. She leaves behind scores of loving nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
