Alice J. Fortin

ATHOL - Alice J. (Duguay) Fortin, 80 of 158 Walnut St., Athol, died Tuesday. February 6, 2007, in the Athol Memorial Hospital, Athol. She was born in Athol, on August 4, 1926, the daughter of the late John and the late Josephine (Larocque) Duguay. Alice graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1944. She was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church; she was past president of the Silver Lake School PTA, past secretary of the Ladies of St. Ann Society, she was a den mother involved with the cub scouts and boy scouts, she was a Blue Bird Leader, past secretary of the VFW Auxiliary and a past member of the democratic town committee. Alice and her husband Marc A. Fortin spent 18 years wintering in Port Charlotte, Florida. She leaves one daughter, Andrea M. Blankenship of Athol, and two sons, Michael W. Fortin of Greenfield, and Gerard P. Fortin of Florida; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Marc A. Fortin who died in 2004, by a brother, Lester Duguay and by a great grandson Michael Roache. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 10, 2007, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol. Calling hours will be held Friday, February 9, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Fiske Funeral Home 1356 Main St., Athol.
