Alice A. Knappe

ATHOL- Alice A. (Watkevich) Knappe, 98, of Athol, died Monday, March 28, at Quabbin Valley Healthcare after a short illness. Alice was born June 4, 1917, in Athol, daughter of the late Charles and Anne (Gatautis) Watkevich and lived in Athol all her life. She graduated from Athol High School in 1935 and worked for Webster Sole Company and Girardi Distributors. She enjoyed traveling, wintering in Florida with her husband, and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Her husband, Adam Knappe, died in 1977. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Stanley and Frank Watkevich. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Thursday, March 31, at 11:00 A.M. at Higgins O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
