Alice Mae Evelyn (Ladwig) Rota, 94, of Baldwinville, MA, passed peacefully on November 7th 2022, after a brief illness.
She was born in Wausau, WI on August 1st 1928, to Frank and Agnes (Kimball) Ladwig.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50+ years, Alfred Rota.
Alice was the Valedictorian of her high school class. After moving from Wisconsin to Massachusetts, she worked at Heywood Wakefield for 5 years. She was a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting afghans, mittens and hats for the COA, as well as baking cookies, bowling, Scrabble, crossword books and traveling to Wisconsin to visit family. Over her lifetime she donated 25 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross.
She leaves her daughter, Diane D'Ambroise of Marlow, NH, her sons, Dennis Rota and daughter-in-law Julie of Baldwinville, MA, Don Rota and daughter-in-law Kathleen of Leominster, MA, and daughter-in law, Deanne Rota of Orange, MA. Seven grandchildren, Jennie D'Ambroise, Jacob Rota, Jeffrey Rota, Benjamin Rota, Jordyn Rota, Andrew Rota, and Nichole (Rota) DeRubeis. Seven great grandchildren, Elijah Shersnow, Gwendolyn Shersnow, Henry Rota, Eloise Rota, Jayden Rota, Macie Rota, and Cooper Rota. And several nieces and nephews.
Alice is predeceased by her two sisters, Dorothy Gore of IL and Mabel Wodjak of MA. Her three brothers, Harvey Ladwig of TX, Irving Ladwig of IL, Russell Ladwig of WI. Her son, David Rota of Orange, MA, and granddaughter, Tanya Shersnow.
At Alice's request, there will be no funeral or memorial services.
