CHELMSFORD - Alice (Lupaczyk) Yurewicz, 94, of 12 Essex Place, Chelmsford, and formerly of Gardner, died Monday, April 14, 2008 in the Lowell General Hospital.
She was born in Gardner, on December 10, 1913, the daughter of the late Antoni and the late Valeria (Michalowski) Lupaczyk.
She grew up in Gardner and attended local schools. She worked at the former Florence Stove as an assembler in the late 1950's, before deciding to be a homemaker. She was a former communicant of St. Joseph's Church, and was a member of the Sodality of the Church. She was a talented artist and created many oil paintings. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, and eating ice cream. She loved her family and her grandchildren very much.
She leaves one daughter, Paula Mason of Chelmsford; two granddaughters, Hilary Coolidge and her husband Jason of Woburn, Holly Mason of New York City, NY; also several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, John H. Yurewicz, in 1999; by her sister, Sophie Henrikson; and by her five brothers, Francis Lupaczyk, John Lupaczyk, Anthony Lupaczyk, Theodore Lupaczyk, and Joseph Lupaczyk.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 18, 2008 at 11:00 am in the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at a later date.
A calling hour will be held at the funeral home Friday, April 18, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515.
