WESTMINSTER- Alma M. (Doucette) Pitre, 93, of Westminster, died Wednesday, July 11, in her home with her husband and family by her side.
Alma was born August 15, 1924, in Collette, New Brunswick, daughter of the late Joseph A. and Edesse (Hachey) Doucette. Alma enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, quilting, and playing cards. Everyone loved her meat pies.
She leaves her husband of 76 years, Felix Pitre; two sons, Edgar Pitre and his wife, Susan with whom she lived, and Armand Pitre and his wife, Soila of Ashby; seven grandchildren, Mindy Paré, Becky Pitre and her partner, Joanne, Daniel Pitre, Jeffrey Pitre, Timothy Pitre and his wife, Stacy, David Pitre, and Matthew Pitre; eight great grandchildren, Corinna and Benjamin Paré, Darius, David, Rocco, Madison, Alia, and Lily Pitre; one brother, Eugene Doucette of New Brunswick; three sisters, Elda Doucette, Amelia Martin, and Anita Martin.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Medric, Gerald, Eloi, and Antoine Doucette, and two sisters, Regina Landry, and Roselda Doucette.
Alma’s family would like to thank the Beacon Hospice staff, especially Joanne Fitch, for all the care they lovingly provided.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, July 14, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. with the funeral beginning at 11:00 at Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. Burial will follow at St. Cecilia’s cemetery.
