  Loving Husband, Father and Pepere LEOMINSTER - Alonzo J. Maillet, 78 of 14 Lorchris St., Leominster, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Canada, on April 24, 1934, the son of the late Placid and the late Edna (Goguen) Maillet. He moved to Leominster from Canada in 1960. Alonzo worked for Concord Construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church and passed the basket at the 11:15 mass every Sunday. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed gardening, playing cards and the outdoors…known to some as the Squirrel Whisperer. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Elodie(Gallant) Maillet; two daughters, Jackie Maillet and her partner Sherry Bailey of Clinton, Arlene Breau and her husband Richard of Leominster; two sons, Claude Maillet and his wife Lynn of Leominster, Michael Maillet and his wife Marie of Leominster; one sister, Jeannine Roach and her husband Oscar of Canada; six grandchildren, Andrea Digeronimo and her husband Shaun, Matthew Skehan, Cameron Maillet, Joshua Maillet, Mallory Maillet, Derek Breau all of Leominster and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by nine sisters and by four brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 10:00 am in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will follow in Saint Cecilia's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Simard Funeral Home 14 Walker St., Leominster. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to St. Cecilia's Church - Restoration Fund, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA 01453.
