PALM COAST, FL – Alphonse Wilfred Chartier Jr., 76, of Palm Coast, Fl, formerly of Phillipston, MA passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at home in Florida.
Alphonse was born in Gardner MA on May 25, 1941, the son of the late Alphonse W. Chartier Sr. and the late Mary Loza (Robichaud) Chartier.
Alphonse worked at the Ferncol School as a supervisor and caretaker for many years, and later as a Security Guard, which he enjoyed. He was a loving and affectionate father and husband. He loved to take his family on mystery rides, was a good listener, and enjoyed a good meal. He was a people person and enjoyed socializing. He loved to go fishing with his wife Luming.
Alphonse is survived by his wife of 32 years: Iluminada “Luming” (Encarnacion) Chartier of Palm Coast, FL; six daughters: Lorraine Rushford of Orange, Sheila Lafortune of Athol, Donna McComsey of Leominster, Felicia Plastini of Palm Coast, FL, Angela Reil of Athol, Pamela Salmi of Phillipston; one son: Edmond Chartier of Phillipston; one stepdaughter: Iris Encarnacion of the Phillipines; 27 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one sister: Annette Neuvonen of Athol.
He was predeceased by his daughter Rosalie Chartier in 1963.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Phillipston Congregational Church, Phillipston. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 14 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange, Ma.
