Alphonse "Al" F. Quader, 80, of 287 Intervale Ave., Athol, died Sunday morning in Athol Memorial Hospital in Athol after a brief illness.
He was born in Athol January 20, 1923 the son of the late John and Pauline (Simonis) Quader and lived here all of his life. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II.
Mr. Quader was a longtime communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church in Athol and a member of the Athol Knights of Columbus, the AARP and Athol Golden Agers. He was a former member of the Ellinwood Country Club and enjoyed playing cribbage and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Suzanne M. (Gionet) Quader; one son, John G. Quader of Gardner; one sister, Elizabeth MacDonald of Athol; one grandson, Jason G. Quader of Fitchburg and several nephews and nieces. A son, James Quader of Athol died in 1968.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from J. EDWARD MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 137 Main St., Athol, Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Immaculate Church, Athol at 10 AM. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
