Amanda A. "Mandy" (Hargett) Zani, 90, passed away at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare on August 10, 2022. Mandy was born on October 17, 1931 in Moriah, New York. She was the daughter of the late Claude Roy Hargett and Anna Mae (Desourdy) Hargett.
Mandy was married to Ernest "Bill" Zani for 57 years until his death in April 6, 2009. She was fortunate to have lived all her married life in the home that she and Bill built at 89 Wheeler Ave, Orange, MA where they raised their 3 children. Mandy's first job was in Boston as a secretary until her marriage, then as a cook at Batch's Restaurant and was also employed at the Union Tool. She was employed at Adell's with Bill for the majority of her working life. Mandy enjoyed her many retirement years camping with Bill and her two grandchildren, including 2 cross-country trips. She filled her time with reading, knitting, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and especially enjoyed her Friday card games. Mandy was always ready for a trip to a casino, too! She was proud to participate several times in the Cancer Relay for Life as a stage 4 cancer survivor and was equally proud when she learned that she was a direct descendant of Mayflower passenger, George Soule. Mandy was a member of St. Mary's Church.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Zani (Connie) and her daughter, Toni Gregoire (Dennis), her 2 grandchildren, Michael Zani (Rachael) and Rachel Burke (Daniel) and her 5 great- granddaughters, Isabella Zani, Julia Zani, Ava Burke, Leah Burke and Emma Burke. A brother Emmett Hargett, sister-in-law, Dianna Zani, brother-in-law, Ronald Austin and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Mandy was pre-deceased by her son, William P. Zani, siblings; Arthur Hargett, Ruth Menard, Coy Hargett, Laska Hargett, Vernie Frasier, Cleo Howard, Vera Burnell, Alberta Orr, Lettie Woods, Nina Russo and Leon Hargett.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 with calling hours from 9:30 - 11:00 with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 at the Fiske -Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange. Burial will follow at South Cemetery, 587 South Main Street, Orange, MA.
