ATHOL - Andrew T. “Drew†Kenniff, 42 of 1132 Doe Valley Road, Athol, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 31, 2013 in the Athol Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 5, 1971, the son of the late George Kenniff and Marie (Hunter) Kenniff.
Andrew grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He was a veteran of Desert Storm serving in the U.S. Coast Guard for seven years.
He was employed as a Rated Service Splice Technician with Verizon for 17 years. He also worked for several years with his in laws at Eddies Restaurant in Athol.
Andrew was a member of the I.B.E.W. Union #2325. He was an avid golfer and also played in a weekly volleyball league as well he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, bringing his children golfing and kayaking and taking spontaneous road trips for new adventures.
He leaves his wife of 16 years, Tracy J. (Ledgard) Kenniff; a son, Michael J. Kenniff; twin daughters, Madelynn C. Kenniff , Samantha M. Kenniff all of Athol; two sisters, Kathryn J. Martucci and her husband Joseph and their children Veronica, Joseph and Rose of Brooklyn, NY, Anne Marie Kenniff of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers: Patrick S. Kenniff and his wife Jennifer and their son Patrick “Stewie†of Brooklyn, NY, Terrence M. Kenniff and his wife Vlada and their son George of Brooklyn, NY; his mother in-law, Susan Ledgard of Athol; a brother in-law, J.J. Ledgard and his wife Maria and their children Rachel and Matthew of Athol; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
He was predeceased by his father, George Kenniff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11:00 am in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. All those attending are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will be private at a later date. A reception will be held at the Ellinwood Country Club immediately following the church services.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St., 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 01701.
