ATHOL - Angela Maria Celli, 85 of 416 Main St., Athol, died Monday, May 15, 2006, in the Hillcrest Nursing Home, Fitchburg.
She was born in Leominster, on June 30, 1920, the daughter of the late Pasquale and the late Palma (Santoro) Celli. She graduated from Leominster High School in 1938 and went on to graduate from St. Rose´s College in Troy, NY.
Ms. Celli taught for 25 years at the Venerini Sisters of Worcester. She left the convent and taught for 20 years at Riverbend School in Athol.
She was a communicant of Our Lady Immacualte Church. She was, a member of the Athol Teachers Association and was the receipant of Teacher of the Year award. She enjoyed traveling.
She leaves three sisters, Antonetta Macy of Leominster, Mercy Sutela of Westminster, Lucy Bellio of Worcester; and many nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Celli and Anthony Celli, and by one sister, Vera Celli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at 11:00 am in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Our Lady Immaculate Church - Building Fund, 192 School St., Athol, MA 01331.
