Ann T. Cody

ATHOL - Ann T. (Blanchard) Cody, 79, of 1217 White Pond Rd., Athol, died Thursday, December 10, 2009 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Athol on January 3, 1930, the daughter of the late Howard K. and the late Bertha (Stoddard) Blanchard. She was a devoted and loving mother and an incredibly talented artist. She enjoyed painting, drawing and cake decorating. She enjoyed many years traveling, sailing on Lake Winnipesaukee and snowmobiling in northern New England. She was employed at the L.S. Starrett Company for many years. She leaves her husband of 58 years, Lawrence H. Cody; a son, Scott Cody of Athol; three daughters, Lauran Witts of Orange, Lucinda Fisher of Athol, Cheryl Lajoie of Royalston; one sister, Aileen Desrosier of Florida; one brother, Glenn Blanchard of Virginia; four grandchildren, Laurie Saisa, Jason Witts, Catherine Witts and Jacob Lajoie; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Lawrence Joseph Cody in 1997; by one brother, Howard S. Blanchard; and by two sisters, Eleanor Call and Elizabeth Vaughn. Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the South Athol United Methodist Church, 65 Morgan Ave., Athol. A calling hour will be held at the Church on Monday, December 21, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Athol High School Scholarship Association, P.O. Box 338, Athol, MA 01331. $(document).ready(function(){ });
