With a heart as big as her infectious laugh and a spirit as resilient as they come, Ann Marie Hellen (nee Sharkey), lovingly known as Annie, has left an unforgettable mark on this world. Born on May 3, 1953, in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in Natick, Ann Marie spent her life bringing joy, compassion, and laughter to everyone she met, especially those in her care. She passed away on July 26, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Ann Marie made a significant impact on the healthcare community as a CNA and a home health care aide, touching countless lives with her compassionate nature. Her dedication to helping others was only surpassed by the love she had for her family, who were her true pride and joy. Born in Boston, raised in Natick, and after spending her life in Orange and Phillipston, she passed away after a brief illness. She was a devoted mother, doting grandmother, beloved sister, and a cherished friend. She loved animals, reading, and indulging in her guilty pleasure of watching awful Lifetime and Hallmark movies with Billy. She was also an amazing artist, sketching, doodling and painting in her free time. Nothing brought her more joy than the holidays when she could fully immerse herself in the Christmas spirit, surrounded by family and friends, or pop on her trusty Witch costume, to go Trick or Treating with the boys.
Annie was always ready with a joke to lighten the mood or a warm hug to comfort those in need. She carried her Catholic faith close to her heart, and always looked out for others, babysitting and inviting neighborhood children into her home as the house that was always open to everyone.
Ann Marie is survived by her son, Patrick Hellen and his wife Trisha, her grandsons Liam and Knox Hellen, her sister Rosemary Garcia, and brother-in-law Paul Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Sharkey, her loving husband William Hellen, her brother James Sharkey, and sister Carol Mitchell.
