ATHOL- Ann M. (Wagner) Romanson, 91, died Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Quabbin Valley Nursing Home after an illness. She was the wife of the late Alexander Romanson who died on November 15, 2006. Ann leaves three daughters, Ellen Blakie of Athol, Joan Hendrickson of Wendell, NC and Nancy Levada and her husband Robert of Rindge, NH; four grandchildren, Nailil Martinelli and her husband Gary of Athol, Anthony Battaini and his wife Cindy of Athol, Tara Marie Lacour and her husband Kenneth Jr. of Pine Level, NC and Katie Ann Tharrington and her husband Monie of Castelia, NC; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Brown and Jacob Lacour both of Pine Level, NC, Payton Ann Tharrington, Mason Tharrington both of Castlelia, NC and Dylan John Martinelli of Athol; two great great-granddaughters, Jaidyn Lacour of Pine Level, NC and Angelina Barton; two sisters, Suellen Lison and her husband retired Col. Robert of Haymarket, VA and Sarah Jane Young of Athol; several nieces and nephews and her loving caregiver Deborah Ugccioni. Ann is predeceased by a son, James J. Romanson, who died on October 28, 2015. Ann was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 10, 1930 a daughter of the late Herman A. and Mary C. (Ballam) Wagner. She was a 1947 graduate of Gardner High School. She worked as a secretary for the Romanson Electric Co. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church and served on the Gardner High School reunion committee for many years. She was active in Girl Scouts, and enjoyed sewing, craft work and attending many craft shows. She also enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Ann's funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Burial will follow in the Green Bower Cemetery, Gardner, MA. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. in the Lamoureux Smith and Poliks Chapel of the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
