Anna Maria Righi McCormack, 90 Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother Leominster – Anna Maria Righi McCormack, 90, of 1051 Main Street, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Born May 18, 1925 in Florence Italy, she was the daughter of Julia & Alfredo Righi and a long term resident of Leominster since the late 1960’s. Anna met and married the love of her life, Francis X. McCormack Sr., during his military service in World War II, and she devoted herself to being a military wife and mother following her husband around the globe during his distinguished and decorated 32 year career with the US Army and an additional 16 years in government civil service as Chief of Staff of the Army Intelligence School. Francis X. McCormack Sr. passed away August 31, 1997, after enjoying 49 years of marriage to Anna. Anna was an Italian war-bride who came to America with language and cultural differences, who overcame these challenges by hard-work and determination. She was an avid homemaker, an antique collector, an exceptional cook, and a very talented gardener. A dedicated military wife and mother; she found innovative ways to assist the family whether as a seamstress, cook, event planner and coordinator. She loved being actively involved in military life and was well-known for her caring ways and assisting with military family events and activities. An independent, hard-working mother, who lived life with a purpose and passion and could command attention in any room with her presence. She had many friends in the Leominster area and was well-known by many city officials including Mayor Mazzarella. She leaves her three sons, Michael A. McCormack of Plantation Acres, Fla., Francis X McCormack, Jr. of Westerly, R.I. and Terrence P. McCormack of Leominster; two daughters, Dr. Anna Pat Krupkin of Freeport, Fla. and Katherine J. Kataisto of Tucson, AZ; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Family and Friends are invited to attend the Mass in her honor on Saturday, March 5 at 9:00am at St. Anna Parrish, 194 Lancaster Street, Leominster, MA. 01453 Anna will be buried beside her beloved husband on Monday, March 7 at 1:30pm in Bourne National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St. #501, Boston, MA 02210.
