ATHOL - Anna H. Waslaske, 94 of 670 Brooks Road, Athol, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at her farm home.
She was born in Athol, on June 23, 1915, the daughter of the late Charles and the late Martha (Baskitis) Waslaske. Anna grew up in Athol and was educated in Athol.
She worked at the former Union Twist Drill Company as a Lathe Operator during the war years; she later transferred to the drawing room as a Blueprint Operator. She retired in 1980.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was a member of the UTD Camera Club and had her own dark room where she developed and enlarged her prints. She had a large portfolio of her work and received several awards for photography. After her retirement she enjoyed collecting antiques.
She leaves one sister, Ida M. Waslaske of Athol with whom she lived; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Rose of Clinton, MA, by two brothers, Charles Waslaske, Jr. and Peter Waslaske both of Athol.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 11:00 am in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 101 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home 137 Main St., Athol.
