DEVELIS, Anthony Robert Jr, Age 54, past quietly into the arms of Jesus his Savior, on June 26, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Tony was the loving husband to Trisha (Suggs) DeVelis with whom he would have celebrated their 32nd anniversary on October 26, 2017; he was the loving father of Sarah Vincent and her husband, Mathew Vincent of Winchendon MA, Esther Garneau and her husband, Samuel Garneau of Lake Wylie SC, Joshua DeVelis and his wife, Courtney (Logue) DeVelis of Winchendon MA, Jesse DeVelis and his wife, Sarah (Steves) DeVelis of Haverhill MA, and Joel DeVelis of Winchendon MA. He was survived by his six loving grand-children that knew him as Papa: Reagan, Sophia, Kennedy, Ziva, Grayson, and Anthony Robert DeVelis III. He is survived by his three younger brothers that loved him dearly: Fr. Mark DeVelis, Paul DeVelis, and Glenn DeVelis and his wife, Jen (Sullivan) DeVelis, as well as their daughter, Sabrina. He is also survived by his wife’s side of the family that loved him as if he was their own: Sister-in-law, Dorothy (Suggs) Bryn, Lorelei (Suggs) Hart and her husband, Kenneth, Rebecca (Suggs) Dixon and her late husband, Dennis, Brother-in-law, Wilton Suggs, and his late wife, Miriam (Johnson), Barbara (Suggs) Willis and her husband, Robert, Tanya (Suggs) Hart and her husband, John. As well as 8 nephews, 5 nieces, 13 great nephews, and 8 great nieces.
Tony was raised in Burlington MA, the son of the late Anthony Sr. and Miryam (Osterberg) DeVelis. He attended Burlington High School, class of 1981. Tony was active in both baseball and hockey over the years. He loved playing his guitar, eating a good Italian meal, watching John Wayne movies, and spending time with his family poolside. He was an exemplary person towards everyone he encountered. He loved Jesus, his personal Savior, with all of his heart.
Calling hours will be Friday June 30, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:30 P.M. at Lamoureaux-Smith & Poliks Funeral Home, a Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St. Gardner, MA.
His Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday July 1, 2017 at the Bread of Life Church, 22 State Road E, Westminster, MA at 11:00 am. Fellowship to follow. Burial will be private at a later date.
