ATHOL - Anthony J. Ralys, 89 of 51 Warwick Ave., Athol, died Monday, June 16, 2014 at home. He was born in Athol, on December 7, 1924, the son of the late Anthony and the late Antena (Walakevich) Rollis. Anthony served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a crew member of a B-24 Heavy Bomber.  He flew 5 missions over enemy occupied territory.  He was shot down and spent 5 months in an internment camp in Sweden. He married Katherine Conners on May 19, 1951 and they were married 51 years when she passed in 2002. He worked for a time at the L. S. Starrett Company and owned and operated Tony's Barber Shop in Athol for 38 years.  He was a member of the Our Lady Immaculate Church and the Athol V.F.W.   He leaves one niece, Jacqueline Ralys of Athol; two nephews, Tom Ralys of North Adams, William C. Ralys of Port Orange, FL; six grand-nephews and 1 grand-niece. Besides his wife Katherine, he was predeceased by his brothers:  Stanley Ralys and Frank Ralys. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange, MA  01364.  Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
