GARDNER - Antoinette Patricia Luczko, 88, of 26 Greenwood Place, Gardner, died Friday, April 23, 2010 in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home in Gardner.
She was born in Gardner on May 28, 1921, the daughter of Stefan and Elizabeth (Danisienko) Luczko.
Antoinette was a lifelong resident of Gardner. She attended local schools and graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1939. Several years ago, she worked for the former Hedstrom Union in Gardner. Antoinette then worked as a secretary for the former Thayer's Manufacturing Company in Gardner for many years until her retirement in the early 1970s. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Gardner for all of her life and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality of the church. Antoinette enjoyed taking walks and attended Mass daily until recent years. Antoinette was proudly independent and self-sufficient throughout her life and also loved spending time with family.
She leaves her nephew, Stanley Luczko, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Gardner; her grandnephew, Kevin Luczko and his wife Tiffany and their children, Samantha Fiske, Hunter Luczko and KC Luczko, all of Vassalboro, Maine; her grandniece, Kathleen Snelgrove and her husband John and their children, Noah and Emma Snelgrove, all of Raynham, MA.
In addition to her parents, Antoinette was also predeceased by her brother, Stanley Luczko, Sr. on October 12, 1996, and by her sister, Agnes Luczko on December 25, 1993.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Monday, April 26, 2010 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant Street, Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner, MA 01440 or to a charity of one's choice.
