GARDNER - Arlene C. (Packard) Hart, 86 of Gardner, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 in the Overlook Masonic Nursing Home, Charlton, MA.
She was born in Ashburnham, on July 18, 1929, the daughter of the late Nelson and the late Alfreda (Rosbury) Packard.
She grew up in Ashburnham and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1948. She worked for the First Nation Grocery in Gardner and was a cafeteria worker at the Gardner High School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She loved cooking and canning.
She leaves two daughters: Ann Bartlett and her husband Dan of Leominster, Judith B. MacFadden of Charlton; one brother: Charles Packard of Ashburnham; two sisters: Margaret Hart of Ashburnham, Marjoire Pandicio of Rutland; three grandchildren: Nicholas Bartlett of Gardner, Hillary Newsome and her husband Tyjuan of Hubert, NC, Hannah MacFadden of Charlton; one great granddaughter, Natalia Bartlett and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Starlin L. Hart, by two brothers: Henry Packard, Percy Packard and by four sisters Evelyn Matthews, Blanche Binall, Rachel Mickola and Ruth Hurd.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Wildwood Cemetery, West St., Gardner, MA There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in memory of Arlene Hart to Overlook Masonic Home, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton, MA 01507.
