LEOMINSTER - Armand J. "Tilly" Dufresne, 89 formerly of 353 Willard St., Leominster, died Sunday, March 25, 2007 in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner. He was born in Leominster, on March 20, 1918, the son of the late Arthur and the late Annette (Brassard) Dufresne. He grew up in Leominster and was educated in Leominster. He was a decorated veteran of World War II serving in the 332nd Engineers Advanced Communications Zone, Company H 116th Infantry Regiment. He was involved in campaigns in Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the Purple Heart in November of 1944. He was employed at Standard Tool and Die and the E.I. Dupont Company. He also worked as a parking security guard for the Merchants Bank and Worcester County Institute Savings Bank for many years. He worked at Union Products for many years retiring in 1982. He was communicant of St. Cecilia´s Church, a member of St. Jean de Baptist, the Leominster American Legion Post No. 151, the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Chapter 44 - Disabled American Veterans and the Leominster Senior Citizens Center. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and gardening. He leaves two daughters: Janice Boucher and her husband Richard of Fayetteville, NC, Ann Warner and her husband Barry of Mesa, AZ and one son: Robert A. Dufresne and his wife Cynthia of Townsend; two sisters: Theresa St. Pierre of Leominster, Jeannette Bilotta of Leominster and one brother: Maurice Dufresne of Leominster; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Angelina (Lanza) Dufresne who died in 2003. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 10:00 am in St. Cecilia´s Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia´s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home 14 Walker St., Leominster. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Alzheimer´s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
