Arnold L. Fuller

Arnold L. Fuller Athol – Arnold L. Fuller, 87, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare.      Arnold was born in Athol on September 17, 1924, the son of Irwin L. and Edith H. (Lundgren) Fuller.  He graduated from Athol High School in 1942.  Arnold served in the United States Navy during World War II in both the European and Pacific Theaters.      He worked at the L.S. Starrett Company for 45 years as payroll and accounting clerk retiring in 1986.        Arnold was a member of the Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, serving on several church committees the board of trustees, and as superintendent of the Sunday School.  He also was a member of the North Quabbin Lodge of Masons A.F. & A.M.  Arnold enjoyed painting cards to send to friends, walking in the cemetery, caning chairs, making pinecone wreaths, and eating sweets      Arnold was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Margaret E. (Anderson) Fuller, who died February 21, 2003 and by his brother, Richard A. Fuller in 1992.  He leaves a son, Jonathan E. Fuller and his wife Maureen of Boise, Idaho and a daughter, Jean E. Shaughnessy and her husband Joel of Athol and five grandchildren, Erin, Megan and Timothy Shaughnessy and Miles and Ian Fuller.       Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol with the Rev. Adam Randazzo, pastor of Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church officiating.  There will be a calling hour from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.  A private burial will be held at Silver Lake Cemetery at the convenience of the family.      In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in Arnold’s name be made to:  Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, “Book of Memory”, 40 Island St., Athol or the Athol Public Library, 568 Main St., Athol, MA  01331.  For further information or to share a memory with the family go to: www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com. $(document).ready(function(){ });
