Arthur H Britt

ATHOL - Arthur H. Britt, III, 70 of 49 Gibson Dr., Athol, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at home.           He was born in Gardner, on August 10, 1944, the son of the late Arthur H. Jr. and the late Mina M. (Nault) Britt. Arthur was a lifelong resident of Athol.  He graduated from Athol High School with the Class of 1962.  He attended Mount Wachusett Community College graduating in 1972 with an Associate’s Degree in Business.  He worked at Simplex and L.S. Starrett Company for a short time before he entered the U.S. Air Force where he served 3 1/2 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a self-employed Bookkeeper/Accountant.  He was a member of the Athol Congregational Church and the Boy Scouts of America.  He enjoyed gardening, and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and hiking. He leaves: two aunts:   Margaret Nault of Athol, Beatrice Maroni of Athol; Cousins:  Leo Nault Jr., Robert Britt, Jane Ann McGuirk all of Athol; as well as several other cousins. A Graveside Service with full Military Honors will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Highland Cemetery, Hillside Terrace, Athol.  A reception will follow at the Athol Congregational Church, Chestnut St., Athol. No calling hours are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440   $(document).ready(function(){ });
