Warwick- Arthur Charles Shepardson, Sr., 84, died April 13, 2023, at Quabbin Valley Nursing Home after an illness.
He was the husband of the late Jo-Ann (Shatos) Shepardson.
Arthur leaves one son, Arthur C. Shepardson, Jr. and his significant other, Renee Boudreau, of Orange; one daughter Nicole (Shepardson) Jack of Warwick, three grandsons, Corey Jack of Warwick, Matthew Shepardson of Athol, and John Desmarais of Warwick; one great-granddaughter, Callie Jack of Greenfield; two brothers and two sisters, David Shepardson Clara Shepardson, Beverly Farley, and Richard Shepardson all of Warwick; and many nieces and nephews.
He was born on May 10, 1938, in Montague, a son of the late George D. and Janet (Ripley) Shepardson. He served in the US Navy on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam Era.
He worked for Rodney Hunt Co and then for New England Telephone for many years until he retired. After retirement he worked for Mann Lumber for a few years.
He was a member of the Orange Lions Club. He loved the outdoors. being in the woods, walking his dog, camping and fishing. He had also taken part in several long hikes with his son and the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed working on his families farm in Warwick, puttering around doing odd jobs and especially loved family gatherings.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. in the Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, MA
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Athol Firefighter's Association, 2251 Main Street, Athol, MA 01331
