LEOMINSTER.... Augusta (Legere) Arsenault, 87 of 21 Fifth Ave., Leominster, Ma. died Thursday, June 14, 2007 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner after an illness. She was born August 28, 1919 in Shediac, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of the late Edmond Legere and Alina (Petitpas) Legere and came to the United States in 1960 settling in Leominster. She leaves one son Herve Arsenault of Bridgeport, Ct., four daughters, Carol Bedard of Leominster, Roberta Arsenault and Dora Melton both of Bridgeport, Ct. and Alice Bastarache of St. Paul, New Brunswick, Canada. One brother, Dooler Legere and two sisters, Claudia Crowe and Theresa LeBlanc all of Canada. Eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Her husband of 49 years, Robert Arsenault died in 1985. A granddaughter Heidi Arsenault died in 1982. A brother Alyre Legere and sisters Bertha Richard and Emilienne Pitre all of Canada predeceased her. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Church in Leominster, the Leominster Seniors and the Ladies of St. Anne. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed knitting and reading. She was employed at the former Howard Plastic Co. and later with her daughter owned and operated Carol's Day Care in Leominster, Ma. until retiring in 1998. She touched many lives and will be missed by all. The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 16th from the M.A. Simard and Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster, Ma. with a 9am Mass of Christian burial in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Friday, June 15th from 6pm-8pm.
