Barbara M. Warner
Athol – Barbara M. (Choquette) Warner, 85, formerly of 379 West Royalston Road, died Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield.
Barbara was born in Athol, Massachusetts, June 5, 1928, the daughter of Eugene P. and Nellie M. (Sampson) Choquette. She grew up in Athol where she has lived all of her life, graduating from Athol High School in 1946.
Barbara worked for the Town of Athol and the Veterans’ Office for 13 years until her retirement. She had previously worked at the former First National Bank, and was a dental assistant for her husband, Dr. Dana L. Warner. She was a member of the Athol Congregational Church, enjoyed playing golf, bowling and playing cards with her family and friends.
She leaves five daughters, Margaret Flick and her husband Arthur of Dublin, NH, Deborah Terounzo of Greenfield, Julie Hubbard and her husband Robert of Warwick, Elaine Aukstikalnis and her husband John of Richmond, NH and Diane Peters and her husband James of Sherwood, OR; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren
and her sister Gladys Sinclair of Bradenton, FL. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 13 years, Dr. Dana L. Warner, brothers, Sheridan and Lloyd Choquette, sisters, Mildred Florence, Irene Nadeau and Ruth Fellows and her son-in-law, William Terounzo.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol with the Rev. Dr. Beverly Prestwood-Taylor, pastor of the Athol Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery and there will be a calling hour from 9:00 A.M.
