Barbara R. Eskelinen, of Ashburnham, MA, passed away on April 6, 2024, at the age of 76.
Born March 9, 1948, to Sheldon and Vera Perry of Fitchburg, MA, Barbara lived a life filled with diverse passions and a strong work ethic. Throughout her career, she excelled as an English teacher, restaurateur, office manager, real estate agent and entrepreneur. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Barbara was an avid tennis player who loved the thrill of competition. She was also a skilled craftswoman, finding joy in carpentry, crafting and making beautiful objects.
Barbara was lucky to have found love twice. She was married to Mauno Eskelinen, who predeceased her in 2003. After Mauno's passing, she married Andre Rocher, who passed away in 2015. She is also predeceased by her brother John Perry (d. 2013) of Gardner, MA. She is survived by her son, Nicholas Eskelinen, of Brooklyn, NY, and her sister, Betty Perry, of Ashburnham, MA as well as many cousins, nephews, and grand nephews and nieces. Her warmth, intelligence, and caring nature will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Forest Hills Cemetery in Fitchburg where she will be laid to rest.
