Barbara M. (Norskey) Nygard

TEMPLETON - Barbara M (Norskey) Nygard, 89 of 314 Otter River Rd., Templeton, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville. She was born in Winchendon, on September 29, 1925, the daughter of the late Alexander and the late Edna (Warwick) Norskey. She grew up in Baldwinville and graduated from Templeton High School with the class of 1943. She was a homemaker and a member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary, Past commander Chapter 30 Auxiliary, Hospital Chairwoman at Northhampton, VA, member of the American Legion 373 Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her family. She leaves her husband of 72 years: Everett J. Nygard, two daughters: Martha L. Arsenault of Staley, NC, Deborah A. Bockus and her husband Keith of Hubbardston, and two sons: John E. Nygard and his wife Cynthia of Templeton, Mark S. Nygard and his wife Erika of Warwick; eight grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 sister: Joanne Tiihonenn of Baldwinville. She was predeceased by one sister: Rachel Symons. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 9:30 am in the Holy Cross Church, 26 Lake Ave., East Templeton. Burial will follow in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday, June 22, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon St., Gardner, MA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Baldwinville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - Activities Fund 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinvlle, MA 01436.
