HAMPTON NH - Barbara J. (Allain) Spinelli, 72, formerly of Leominster died peacefully on July 13, 2010 surrounded by her family. Barbara was the youngest of ten children born in Leominster to the late Calixte and Josephine (Collette) Allain on May 15, 1938.Barbara was predeceased by her husband Anthony in 2003 and her siblings Clarence, Raymond and Corinne Allain and Hilda Hensley. Barbara is survived by her six children, Christina Spinelli, Scott Spinelli, Bonnie Wilkie, Lisa Carignan, Anthony Spinelli Jr and Andrea Kean. Barbara also leaves her ten grandchildren, Gianna, Gabriel, Joseph Spinelli, Brianna, Carlee, Cameron, Zachery Carignan; Conner, Chase Wilkie; and Rowan Kean; her brother Robert Allain and sisters Juliette Lemire, Pauline, Dorothy and Helen Allain, along with many nieces and nephews. Barbara graduated from Leominster High School in 1958 where she was an outstanding student athlete. In 1962, Barbara obtained a B.S. in Education from Fitchburg State College. Barbara thoroughly enjoyed the teaching profession and after her work in the Westminster Public School System, she dedicated her life to her family. In recent years, Barbara worked for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. Barbara was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. As a member of St Cecilia's parish, she was a devout Catholic and had a strong faith- based way of life. Like all good teachers, Barbara was able to translate good judgment, experience and wisdom into relevant knowledge that could be shared with others. She set an example for all by working hard and demonstrating humility and grace. We love you mom and are so grateful for your love, generosity and teachings. You will be missed everyday and your spirit will live in us forever. The funeral will be held on Friday July 16, 2010 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm at St Cecilia's Church 180 Mechanic St Leominster. Burial will follow in St Cecilia's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
