LEOMINSTER -- Bennie A. Baca, 86, of Leominster, died Saturday morning, May 29, 2010, in the Lifecare Center of Leominster, after an illness.
He was born November 1, 1923 in Albuquerque New Mexico the son of the late Adelino Baca and Thomisata (Torres) Baca, and came to Leominster many years ago.
Mr. Bacca and his wife, Therese (Broadbent) Baca would have celebrated sixty years of marriage this July.
He leaves many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. His two sisters, Claudia Darr of New Mexico and Rena Piccucci of Leominster, and two half sisters, Mary and Corina. A brother, Johnny Baca, and a sister, Rosina Peralta predeceased him.
Bennie was a member of Holy Family of the Nazareth Church in Leominster, Monoosnock Country Club, and was a 4TH Degree Knight in the Leominster Knights of Columbus. He worked as a Machinist at General Electric Co., and enjoyed gardening, playing golf and bowling.
Bennie was a US Army veteran of World War II serving from 1943 -1946.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster with a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family of the Nazareth Church, 750 Union St., Leominster.
Burial with military honors will follow in St Leo's Cemetery, Leominster.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday evening, June 1, 2010 from 5 pm - 7 pm.
