Bernardine Hill

HUBBARDSTON - Bernardine "Nadine" Hill, 84 of 25 Brigham Rd., Hubbardston, died Thursday, January 21, 2010 in the St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. She was born in Treiste, Italy on September 16, 1925, the daughter of the late Luigi and the late Ivana (Mrakic) Kenda. Mrs. Hill arrived in the United States March 5, 1947, a native of Belgium, coming from Plezzo Italy and has resided in Hubbardston since 1947. She and her husband were co-owners of the Hill Poultry Farm in Hubbardston for 40 years. She was a member of the Golden Age Club in Hubbardston, and the Summit Elder Care Program. She enjoyed going to Foxwoods and braiding rugs. She loved her family and children very much. She leaves two daughters: Kathy A. Byrne and her husband Robert of Templeton, Irene J Hill of Hubbardston; two sons: Steven E Hill and his wife Carolyn of Las Vegas, NV, Kevin A Hill and his companion Marian of Easton, PA; two brothers: Arnold Kenda and his wife Harriet and Alfred Kenda and his wife Roberta of Gardner; five grandchildren: Shane Byrne, Brandon Byrne, Jamie Salvadore, Nancy Hill and Patrick Hill; two great grandchildren: Von Salvadore and Veanna Salvadore; two nieces and four nephews She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years Maitland E. Hill who died in 1995. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will be held in Rural Glenn Cemetery, Hubbardston in the spring Calling hours will be held Sunday January 24, 2009 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Poliks Funeral home.
