EAST TEMPLETON - Bernice C. (Kruckas) Praplaski, 86, of 14 Baker Lane, East Templeton, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Praplaski was born in Gilbertville, MA, on September 1, 1923, the daughter of the late Anthony and the late Anna (Koncas) Kruckas. She grew up in Gilbertville and graduated from Hardwick High School with the class of 1941.
She worked as Branch Manager of the Gardner Savings Bank in Westminster for many years until her retirement in 1984.
Mrs. Praplaski was a member of Holy Cross Church in East Templeton. She was a fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and the Celtics and always enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She loved animals and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She leaves her husband of sixty-one years, Stan R. Praplaski; two sons, Stan R. "Butch" Praplaski, Jr. and his wife Kathleen, Jim B. Praplaski and his wife Diane, all of Phillipston; one daughter, Nancy A. Ramsdell and her husband Gene of Athol; five grandchildren, Marcy Litchfield of West Yarmouth, Jim Praplaski, Jr. of Allston, Matthew Praplaski, Jason Praplaski, Jessica Pineyro and her husband Joe, all of Phillipston; three great grandchildren, Reece Smith of West Yarmouth, Olivia Pineyro and Joey Pineyro, both of Phillipston; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Frank Kruckas, and by her sister, Mary Taylor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 26 Lake Avenue, East Templeton. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant Street, Gardner.
