WESTMINSTER - Bernice Ann St. Jean, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 16, 2023.
She was born in Fitchburg, on November 13, 1950, daughter of Ernest Niles and Constance (Belliveau) Niles. Bernice was raised in Fitchburg and graduated from St. Bernard's High School with the Class of 1968.
Bernice worked for New England Telephone before staying home to raise her family. She later worked for Barnes & Noble at the Fitchburg State College bookstore and then for E.D.S. Engineering before retiring. Bernice loved to travel, including trips to Florida as well as casinos, and she loved her flowers and gardening.
She leaves her husband of nearly 54 years, Dennis J. St. Jean; two sons, David St. Jean and his wife Eileen of Athol, Christopher St. Jean of Savannah, GA; and the lights of her life, grandsons, Matthew (Matt) and Dennis (D.J.) St. Jean of Athol; her mother, Connie Niles of Fitchburg; one sister, Christine Burby of Fitchburg; three brothers, Michael Niles of Winchendon, Paul Niles of Fitchburg, Ernest Niles of Fitchburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Ernest, and daughter-in-law Jennifer St. Jean. Bernice will be forever missed and always be in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 11 am in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church S t., Westminster. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery, Westminster.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023 from 5 - 7 pm at Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Bernice's memory be made to Westminster Lions Club Scholarship Fund at PO BOX 618, Westminster, MA 01473.
