ATHOL- Bertha M. (Duguay) Alliott, 92, of Athol, died Saturday, March 21, in Quabbin Valley Healthcare after an illness.
She was born December 8, 1922, in Paquetville, New Brunswick, daughter of the late Ulric and Sarah (Cormier) Duguay. Mrs. Alliott worked for the former Athol Comb Shop. She was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church. Mrs. Alliott enjoyed traveling, playing cards, family gatherings, sewing, reading, and collecting stamps, coins, and dolls.
Her husband of 63 years, Albert Alliott, died in 2002. She was also predeceased by four brothers, George, William, Virgil, and Albert Duguay, two sisters, Bella Goupil, and Rena Duguay, two sisters-in-law, Betty and Dawn Duguay, and one brother-in-law, Xavier Goupil.
She leaves her son, Clifford Gene Alliott and his wife, Lana of FL; her daughter, Patricia Rhodes and her husband, Robert, with whom she lived; one granddaughter, Lisa Alliott of FL; two great grandchildren, Felicia Osborn and her husband, Derek, and Denton Green; one brother, Norman Duguay of Quincy; two sisters, Rita Rivers and Noella Boutelle, both of Athol; two sisters-in-law, Arline and Flora Duguay, both of Athol; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The funeral will be held Monday, April 27, from Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
A calling period will be held Monday, April 27, from 10:00 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
