TEMPLETON- Bertha A. (Rondo) Dean, 88, of 10 Harley Hill Rd., died Saturday, March 29, at UMass Medical Center. At the time of her death, she was living at the Baldwinville Nursing Home. Bertha was born July 12, 1925, in Athol, daughter of the late John and Faddie (Mallett) Rondo. Her husband of 45 years, Robert Dean, Sr., died April 4, 1989. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Loretta Baldwin and Erma Rondo. She leaves four children, Lawrence Rondo and his wife, Annette of Mount Vernon, NH, June Perry of Gardner, Mary Alm and her partner, Paul Saari of Templeton, and Robert Dean and his fiancée, Cynthia Binette of Templeton; eight grandchildren, Sheila Nourse, Lawrence Rondo, Jr., John Perry, Jr. and his wife, Janet, Sheldon Perry and his wife, Carol, Christine Valcourt and her husband, Travis, Susan Koucoules and her husband, Mike, Amy Platt and her husband, Tramiel; fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. Bertha enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also loved music and singing. In 1972, she traveled cross country with her sister Loretta and her husband, Carl to California, visiting Walls Drug, Mount Rushmore, and many other sites during their trip. Bertha was a very loving and caring person who touched everyone who knew her. She had a great sense of humor and outlook on life. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her and is now resting in the Lord’s care. Calling hours are Wednesday, April 2, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon with a service at 12:00 Noon at the Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
