LEOMINSTER...Bertrand J."Bert" Ramsay 69 formally of 195 Mechanic St.Leominster a resident of the Keystone Center died Thursday July 23,2009 in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital after an illness. He was born July 23,1940 in Quebec Canada the son of the late Ernest Ramsay and Bgzela (Russco) Ramsay and immigrated to the United States in 1970 settling in Leominster MA. He leaves three sons Mario Ramsay and his wife Sheryl of Winchendon, Sylvain Ramsay and his wife Michelle of Fitchburg and Denis Ramsay and his companion Pamela of Winchendon.Two sisters Marie and Madelaine both of Canada. His wife Fernande (LeBlanc)Ramsay died in 1989 and a brother Roland Ramsay predeceased him. Mr Ramsay served in the Canadian Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St Cecilia s Church, Leominster Franco Club and Leominster Sportsmans Club.He worked as a mechanic and later went to work as a diesal mechanic for Charlie Carr in Leominster. After retirement he was a bartender at A and R Tavern on Water St.in Leominster. He enjoyed skeet shooting and playing darts. The funeral will be held on Tuesday July 28,2009 from Simard Funeral Home 14 Walker St.Leominster with an 11am Mass of Christian Burial in St Cecilias Church 180 Mechanic St.Leominster. Burial will follow in St Cecilas Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday evening July 27,2009 are from 6pm-8pm $(document).ready(function(){ });
