Bessie V. Jankowski

TEMPLETON - Bessie V. (Theodosis) Jankowski, 84, of Templeton, died Friday, October 3, 2008 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home. She was born in Worcester on May 17, 1924, the daughter of the late Anastasios and Antonia (Kondos) Theodosis. Mrs. Jankowski grew up in Worcester and graduated from Commerce Business High School in Worcester. She lived in Gardner for several years, before moving to Westminster where she resided for 25 years. She worked at the former Grants Department Store in Gardner, then the Almys Department Store for several years. Mrs. Jankowski was previously employed as a clerk at Melville Shoe Company and Thom McKan Shoe several years ago. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Gardner. She enjoyed cooking, watching soap operas, and loved animals. She leaves her son, Steven J. Jankowski and his wife Lila of Baldwinville; and her daughter, Susan Reed of E. Providence, RI. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Joseph S. Jankowski, who died in 2002; and by her two brothers, Charles Theodosis and Spirio Theodosis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Gardner. Calling hours will be held Monday, October 6, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner.
