Betty I. Woodbury

Betty I. (Towel) Woodbury passed away on February 20, 2025, at Athol Memorial Hospital, where she had been born on January 17, 1931. She was 94 years old.

Betty grew up in Athol and attended Athol Schools graduating from Athol High School in 1949. Betty married Kenneth H. Woodbury and in 1952 moved into the house they built in Royalston, where she was a resident until her death. Betty worked in office related tasks at L.S. Starrett, W.T. Grant Company, Mars, and Quabbin Valley.

Besides her parents Louisa (Tatro) and Frederick Towle she is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth H. Woodbury, her partner of 30 years, James L. Smith, sisters Helen Newman, Mae Cromp, Ida Maybe, a brother Fredrick Towle and an infant daughter Kay Joy.

She is survived by a daughter Jan T. St. Jean and her husband Steven of Hubbardston; two grandsons, Zacharie St. Jean and his wife Nena of North Andover and Timothy St. Jean of Hubbardston and two great grandsons, Emerson and Isalah St. Jean both of North Andover and several friends and extended family members.The Royalston Luncheon Club was her life. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Mack Family Funeral Home, Athol-Orange Chapel, 110 New Athol Rd, Orange. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial in Lawrence Brook Cemetery, Royalston, will be private in the spring.
