Beulah M. Hache

Beulah M. (Lumbra) Hache, 79, of 416 Main Street, died Wednesday in Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield, following a brief illness. Her husband, Joseph E. Hache died in 1973. She leaves two daughters, Nancy Magill of Athol, and Ruth Quinlan of Orange; four sisters, Rachel Rushford of Athol, Marjorie Houle of New York, Eleanor LaDue of Springfield, and Elaine Archambault of Richford, VT; 3 grandchildren, Joseph Teague, Jason Teague and Melissa Dushion; 3 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Ashleigh and Erika Teague; and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Leonard Lumbra, Buster Lumbra and Alan Lumbra, predeceased her. She was born in Montgomery, Vermont, Jan. 27, 1923, daughter of Charles and Mary (Centerbar) Lumbra and was raised and attended schools there. She has lived in Athol the past 51 years. Mrs.Hache was employed at the former J. F. MacElwain Shoe Company for 17 years, retiring in 1973. Previously, she worked for the N. D. Cass Company for several years. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and its Women's Guild. She was also a member of the Golden Agers and actively participated in her granddaughter's Girl Scouts troop. She was a volunteer for many years at the Athol Mealsite. The funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002 from the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main Street, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 105 Main Street. Burial will be at a later date in Gethsemane Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are 5 to 8 pm. Friday, Oct. 18. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. $(document).ready(function(){ });
