Blanche Astram

GARDNER- Blanche Astram, 93, formerly of 154 Chestnut St., Gardner, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, in the Leo P. LaChance Center, where she has resided for eight years. She was born in Gardner, on December 5, 1914, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Remowicz) Astromowicz. Ms. Astram lived in New York City, California, and Florida before coming back to Gardner many years ago. She also worked in many restaurants in New York, such as Hyde Park, Puff and Billy, and many more. She also attended St. Joseph's Church of Gardner. She is survived by three nephews, Richard Shackford of Londenderry, NH, Lewis Shackford of Merrimac, NH, and Paul Shackford of Harrington Park, NJ; two nieces, Donna Murry of Narragansett, RI, Phyllis Failoa of Thomasville, NC; and many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her nephew, David Tarbox of Gardner. Graveside funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
