Blanche R. White

Blanche R. (Mundell) White, 87, of 500 Spring St., Athol, died Thursday, December 27, 2007 in Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol. She was born in Springfield, MA, on August 30, 1920, the daughter of the late Alfred and the late Gladys (Kendall) Mundell. She grew up in Springfield and West Brookfield, and has resided in Athol for most of her life. She was a matron at Athol High School for 14 years, and worked for UTD in Athol for five years. She enjoyed doing puzzle books and crocheting. She leaves one daughter, Karen L. Bailey of Athol; two sons, Oren E. White of Athol, and Keven L. White of Leominster; two sisters, Beverly Haines of Athol, Charlotte Whately of Maine; two brothers, John Mundell of Athol, George Mundell of Idaho; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer White in 1995; by two sisters, Virginia Bjorson and Lois Masterson; by five brothers: Donald Mundell, Richard Mundell, Harry Mundell, James Mundell, and Alfred Mundell; and by one granddaughter, Jodie (Putnam) Lopez. Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Highland Cemetery, Athol. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Activity Fund of Quabbin Valley Healthcare, 821 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol, MA 01331.
